A Sensitive “Edge” Location
The site is located in a transition zone, where the neighborhood character changes from a ‘Downtown Feel’ to a ‘Residential Feel’. The project needs to be sensitive and responsive to this transition through appropriate scale, materials, and activity.

It Needs to “Fit” in Whitefish
The project character needs to have an appropriate sense of 'place' within the context of the City of Whitefish. Through the project's scale and massing, material palette and rhythm, it should ring harmoniously with the existing neighborhood of Whitefish.

Provide a “Downtown Square”
While the architecture itself is important, defining the 'VOID' spaces (or spaces in-between) as locations for vibrant outdoor activity and 'personality' for the development should be equally important.

Welcoming and Vibrant
The architecture and site development should welcome and foster street-level activity that adds a sense of vibrancy and life to the site, as well as to the City of Whitefish.

It Needs to Feel Like “Home”
The residents and users of the development should have an overwhelming sense that this place truly feels like 'home.' This is achieved through sensitively-designed spaces and buildings that inspire, foster family togetherness, create a sense of 'neighborhood unity', and allow freedom to live and work in harmony.
